Overview

Why trust us with this service

The electrical panel is the heart of your home. When it ages, runs out of room or can no longer support an EV charger or a Powerwall, upgrading becomes urgent. An undersized panel trips breakers, can overheat and poses a real risk.

We replace 100 A panels with 200 A panels (and larger when needed), install sub-panels dedicated to chargers or workshops, and bring aging installations up to code (fuse boxes, Federal Pioneer and Zinsco panels). Hydro-Québec coordination and municipal permits included.

What's included

  • 100 A → 200 A replacement to free up the capacity an EV or Powerwall needs
  • Full coordination with Hydro-Québec (application, service connection, shutoff)
  • Dedicated sub-panel for an EV charger, workshop, garage or adjacent cottage
  • Code upgrades for fuse boxes or discontinued panel brands
  • Clear labelling and a single-line diagram provided at handover
  • 5-year warranty, compliant with the Québec Electrical Code

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A question not listed here? Our team will get back to you quickly.

Ask a question
How long will I be without power?

Usually between 4 and 8 hours during the replacement, scheduled during the day. For multi-unit buildings, we work floor by floor to minimize disruption.

How much does a 100 A to 200 A upgrade cost?

Cost depends on the condition of the service entrance, the existing wiring and the distances involved. We provide a firm quote after a free visit.

Do I really need 200 A to install a charger?

Not always. With a precise load calculation and possibly a load-management device, some 100 A homes can add a charger without an upgrade. We always assess before recommending.

Does my panel need to be replaced?

If you have a fuse box, a Federal Pioneer Stab-Lok panel, or a panel more than 40 years old, we recommend an inspection. These panels carry known risks.

Is a permit required?

Yes. Any panel upgrade requires a municipal permit and a declaration to Hydro-Québec. We handle all the paperwork.
